An Open Letter To Republican Senators And Members Of Congress – This Is Your Hail Mary Moment

September 17,2015

An Open Letter to Republican Senators and Members of Congress – This is Your Hail Mary Moment

Throughout my lifetime I have given much time, energy, and dedication to electing Republicans. Republicans who campaign on the platform of our great Party…the Party that has always stood for freedom, prosperity, personal responsibility, national security, and the sanctity of human life. Those are all mantras of the GOP. They are the essence of the belief system of not only our base, but of the majority of Americans.

I am writing this open letter to implore you to act, because right now America does not believe you will. They are looking at the record. The promises made during past campaigns that have not been delivered upon. Have you seen America’s reaction to the lack of follow-through? Have you heard people say they have no desire to elect many of our good candidates no matter how substantive they may be or how good their record may be? That is because of many that hold office in your respective Chambers.

Please understand I am not an all or nothing activist. I am a fairly pragmatic person. I believe in incrementalism and understand you cannot repair all the damage that has been done to our country in one or two sessions. The American people have no desire to micromanage you. We want to have faith in your promises and go on about our daily lives, but we are tired of people that campaign one way and govern another. And right now there are two issues that hang in the balance that are of critical importance to the American people. Two issues that cannot wait. Two issues that are at the core of our belief system as Americans and as decent human beings. These two issues will make or break the Republican majority.

It is expected on Friday the House of Representatives will take up a bill to defund Planned Parenthood, an organization that makes it’s living (despite it’s false excuses and claims) off the pre-born murders of the next generation. An organization that by it’s own admission in videos carefully and meticulously crushes only certain body parts in-utero and sometimes delivers complete, in tact cadavers of destroyed babies in order to salvage their organs, their neural tissue, their eyes… for harvesting and sale to the highest bidder.

We have all heard the claims by the abortion industry and it’s mouthpieces in the media that the videos were taken “out of context”. But, there does not exist a context in which these abhorent statements could be taken any other way but in total horror, repulsion, shock, and disgust. No decent human being could support federal funding…that means our tax dollars…our money going to fund the extinction of our next generation.

There is every reason to believe the House will pass the bill. The issue will then fall upon the Senate. Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said we will have to wait, because the President doesn’t support defunding Planned Parenthood. That makes one wonder if Senator McConnell desires to represent the people that elected him and the Senate Republican majority, or does he believe he was elected to do the bidding of the left? We expect those who assume the title of leader to act as one.

Finally there is the Iran Nuclear Deal, the worst foreign policy decision in the history of the United States. A deal with a totalitarian government that supports terrorism and puts our greatest ally in the Middle East, Israel, in mortal danger. Indeed the supreme leader of Iran has said Israel will cease to exist within 25 years. This ill-conceived deal trusts a nation that is a major supporter of global terror to monitor itself. This deal will help Iran modernize and protect it’s nuclear capabilities and eventually lead to Iran’s ability to reach the shores of America. Make no mistake…the destruction of Israel and the United States is their goal, and this deal will help put that goal within their reach.

67 years ago, General Omar Bradley made a chilling and applicable statement: “We have grasped the mystery of the atom and rejected the Sermon on the Mount. The world has achieved brilliance without conscience. Ours is a world of nuclear giants and ethical infants. We know more about war than we know about peace, more about killing than we know about living. If we continue to develop our technology without wisdom or prudence, our servant may prove to be our executioner.”

If Congress fails to act on these two issues ask yourselves this question – Will the next generation die at the hands of an organization that murders them and sells off their body parts for profit, or will they die by the explosion of a nuclear bomb that reached our shores because of a lack of resolve among our national leaders to stop the Iran Nuclear Deal?

You are the people we believed in, trusted, and elected to office. That means we trusted you with our lives and the lives of our children and it is time many of you understand your job is not about self glorification or bait and switch at the Capitol. Decisions of life and death are made under that Dome. This is not about partisanship, it is about the very survival of our nation and it is in your hands.

Republican leaders have lost the faith of not only our base, but of the American people. You have an opportunity to rebuild it and restore it. This is your Hail Mary moment. Don’t drop the ball or it will not be passed to you again.

Julianne Thompson is the founder of the Free America Project to educate, build coalitions and unite voters to elect a conservative to the office of President of the United States in 2016. She is the former Co-Chair of the Atlanta Tea Party and the former Press Secretary of the Georgia Republican Party. A twice elected delegate to the Republican National Convention, Julianne was chosen in 2012 as one of Georgia’s 16 Presidential Electors

Note to activists – We have two options at this point – Pressure McConnell and Senators who are up for reelection in 2016 into allowing a floor vote by voting for cloture (to end debate). Democrats are blocking cloture.

The other option takes strong leadership, but it is the way this should be handled in my opinion, and that is to use the parliamentary procedure tool known as a nuclear option. In other words the Senate overrides a rule or precedent by a majority vote.

These are the names of the Senators up for reelection that need to be pressured by citizens and by leadership. Please call these Democrats Senators, call your own Senators, and call Senate Majority Leader Mitch McMconnell.

America’s Selective Outrage

July 31, 2015

I’ve seen many people enraged over the senseless and illegal killing of Cecil the Lion (and well deserved…I am too), but if you are intellectually honest it pales in comparison to the hundreds of thousands of human babies killed each year and organs harvested for profit by the butchers at Planned Parenthood.

I would question whether half the people enraged on Facebook about the lion even know, think about, or mourn for Christians and Jews in the Middle East being systematically butchered by ISIS.

We have rationalized murder for convenience and so desensitized ourselves to death, that we have little regard for life of any kind.

“Its a baby!”and “Another boy!” – Both of those statements were made by the Planned Parenthood “doctors” (and I use that term lightly) in the newest video release by the California-based Center for Medical Progress …referring to the aborted and dissected baby in the video (so that potential buyers could see what good samples the clinic can give them).

One doctor said “We can do better on the 2nd tris (trimesters), because the skull is so big you can reach in it with your hand to get the brain.” These are not physicians. These are not healers. These are money-hungry butchers with medical degrees who’s licenses should be taken away, because if ever the hypocratic oath was violated it is by the doctors at Planned Parenthood.

I see the usual people angry on FB and Twitter, but so many more people upset by the death of a lion. Jimmy Kimmel cried, but not a word for the baby boy in the video…and he was a baby boy, not a blob of meaningless tissue. Even the Planned Parenthood “doctor” said so.

I have asked a few friends who posted about Cecil, why they posted about the lion but not Planned Parenthood. One just stayed silent and looked down. One told me she was hesitant to post about such a controversial issue. She didn’t want to “tick-off” her friends who may be non-political with such a position. How could outrage against fetal organ harvesting be controversial? How could anyone think this is a non-issue?

Have you watched the videos? And if so why are you not outraged for those senseless deaths for profit? And tell me please how anger over a lion’s death is not political, just humane, yet anger over human death is controversial?

I am a mother – twice. I was both frightened and thrilled as my physician showed me the ultrasound of both of my babies. The first time I ever laid eyes on either of my children was via ultrasound at 11 weeks…the age of the aborted, dissected boy. Their tiny hearts were beating. I was in love. There was no way not to be, thus the reason the abortion lobby opposes mandatory ultrasound before abortion…even though ultrasound guides the abortion.

As a mother my heart aches, my stomach hurts, and I weep for what is happening. I try to be diplomatic, but I cannot be silent.

The death of Cecil the lion is tragic and his killer is a serial felon who doesn’t care about conservation (most real hunters do). But, the lack of outrage over these babies is far more disturbing. Fear and subsequent silence on the issue is the biggest outrage of all.

Atrocities perpetrated against humans should be our first focus. Only then can we speak out with moral credibility against human cruelty toward animals.
